What Stanisław Pietruszka sculpts, is completely different from anything you may have seen. The sculptor calls his sculptures "pałuby". The face - he says - is already in the piece of wood, you just have to uncover it. He sculpts with… An axe. Well, he sculpts what is covered in wood and then paints: eyes, eyebrows, lips… His family settled in Gruszewo long time ago. They remained there for generations and now it is Mr. Stanisław's place.
